Two ways to use it
- Name with symbols: type a name and get twelve decorated versions, mixing a letter style (cursive, gothic, small caps, bold and more) with symbols on each side, such as ꧁ ꧂, ★彡 彡★ or ☬. Press Shuffle for twelve more.
- Single symbols: tap any symbol to copy it. Switch "Tap to" to Collect to build a line of several symbols, then copy it in one go.
One page per kind of symbol
This page mixes every group. For a longer list of one kind, with its codes, use the pages linked under the symbols: hearts, stars, arrows, crosses, flowers, moons, cute symbols, aesthetic symbols, kaomoji and the invisible character.
Search by name
Every single symbol carries its official Unicode name, so searching "heart", "arrow", "check", "moon" or "chess" finds it even when you do not know what it looks like. Hold the pointer over a symbol (or long-press on some phones) to see its name.
Text symbols and emoji
Most symbols here are text symbols: they take the colour of the text around them and look much the same everywhere. A few, such as 💖 or 🌸, are emoji: they come in colour and each phone maker draws them in its own way. Some text symbols, like ❤ and ☀, can appear either way depending on the app.
Screen readers announce symbols by name, so a line of ★★★★★ is read as five separate stars. Keep important words in plain text.
Questions
How do I put symbols in my name?
Type your name in Name with symbols, tap the version you like to copy it, and paste it into your display name or bio. Most apps only accept plain letters in the @username itself.
Why does a symbol show as a box?
The device showing it has no font with that character. Older phones lack some newer symbols. The common ones here, such as ★ ♡ ✿ and the arrows, show on almost every device.
What are kaomoji?
Faces made from ordinary characters, popular in Japan, such as ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ or (◕‿◕). They are plain text, so they paste anywhere.
Can I copy several symbols at once?
Yes. Choose Collect, tap the symbols you want, then press Copy all.
