What makes a symbol "aesthetic"
Aesthetic decoration is mostly small and light: thin sparkles (✧ ⋆ ˚), tiny raised dots (⁺ ₊ ·), soft frames and long thin lines. It frames words without shouting. Compared with the cute symbols, there are fewer faces and bows and more lines, brackets and space.
Five groups
- Singles: one character to start a line or sit next to a name.
- Sparkle combos: short strings like ✧˖° or ⋆。°✩ to begin or end a bio line.
- Frames: a pair with a space in the middle. Copy, paste, then type your word between them.
- Dividers: lines to separate parts of a caption or a profile.
- Bullets: for lists in bios and notes, such as ↳ or ⌗ ⟡.
Keep it readable
Screen readers read each symbol out by name, so a bio made mostly of decoration is tiring to listen to. Keep the words that matter in plain letters and use symbols at the edges. For the same look on letters, try the aesthetic fonts.
