The small pieces cute combos are made of
Most cute decorations are built from a handful of characters. ʚ and ɞ are phonetic letters that look like little wings around a heart (ʚ♡ɞ). ꒰ and ꒱ are radicals from the Yi script and work as soft round brackets. ୨ and ୧ are the Odia digits two and one, and side by side they make a bow shape (୨୧). ⊹ and ⋆ add sparkle, and ˚ and ₊ add tiny dots. Mix two or three of them around a word and you have your own combo.
Bears, bunnies and cats
Faces such as ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ (a bear), ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ (a bunny) and ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ (a cat with paws) are kaomoji: little pictures made of characters from several alphabets. They paste as text, so they work in names, bios and messages.
Make a cute bio line
- Pick a frame from the combos, for example ˚₊‧꒰ა 🎀 ໒꒱ ‧₊˚.
- Write a word in a cute font.
- Use Collect mode to put symbols and your word together, then Copy all.
Some cute characters (such as 𐙚, ᰔ and ᡣ𐭩) come from rarely used scripts. They look great on new phones but can show as boxes on older ones, so check how your bio looks on another device.
Questions
What are cute symbols called?
They have no single name. Many are letters from other writing systems chosen for their shape (ʚ ɞ ꒰ ꒱ ୨ ୧), mixed with stars, hearts and flowers.
How do I add cute symbols to my bio?
Tap a symbol or combo to copy it, then paste it into the bio field. Use Collect to copy several at once.
What does ʚɞ mean?
Nothing on its own. ʚ and ɞ are phonetic letters that look like wings, so ʚ♡ɞ reads as a heart with wings.
Why do my cute symbols show as boxes for my friends?
Their device has no font for one of the rarer characters. Classic ones like ♡ ✿ ⋆ show almost everywhere.
