How Title Case works here
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, then keeps short words such as a, an, the, and, but, or, of, in, on, at, to and by in lower case, unless they are the first or last word or come after a colon. Style guides do not fully agree on this: AP, Chicago and APA each have their own rules for prepositions and for words of four letters or more. If you write for one of them, use this as a fast first pass and check the few words where they differ.
Capitalized Case is the simpler version: every word gets a capital letter, short words included.
Cases for code and file names
Programmers join words without spaces, and each language and team has a habit. The converter finds the words in your text (spaces, punctuation, and changes from a small to a capital letter all count as breaks), then joins them again:
- camelCase for variables in JavaScript and Java.
- PascalCase for class and component names.
- snake_case for Python variables and database columns.
- kebab-case for web addresses, CSS classes and file names.
- CONSTANT_CASE for constants and environment variables.
- dot.case for some configuration keys.
Each line is converted on its own, so you can paste a list of names and get a list back.
Counts while you type
Under the box you see characters (with and without spaces), words, sentences and lines, updated as you type. Handy for a bio, a meta description or a word limit on an assignment.
Case or font?
A case converter changes ordinary letters, so the result stays plain text that any app can search and any screen reader can read. If you want letters that look different, such as ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐, ๐๐ธ๐๐พ๐ ๐ or ๊ฑแดแดสส แดแดแด๊ฑ, use the font generator or the small text page instead.
Questions
How do I change text from caps lock to normal?
Paste the text and press Sentence case. Every sentence then starts with a capital letter and the rest is lower case. Check proper names afterwards, as the tool cannot know them.
What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalized Case?
Capitalized Case gives every word a capital letter. Title Case keeps short words such as of, the and in lower case unless they come first or last.
Can I undo a conversion?
Yes. Undo steps back through your last changes, one at a time.
Does it work with accents and other alphabets?
Yes. Letters such as รฉ, รฑ, รผ, Greek and Cyrillic change case correctly. The German ร becomes SS in upper case.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser. The text is kept only in this tab, so it is still there if you reload, and it is gone when you close the tab.
