Three kinds of cross
"Cross symbol" can mean different things, so the page keeps them apart. The first group holds religious and historical crosses. The second holds X shapes, used for "wrong", "no" or a close button. The third holds plus signs and other upright crosses used as bullets or in maths.

Check or cross
For a list of done and not done, pair ✓ or ✔ with ✗ or ✘: they are drawn as a matching set in most fonts. ❌ and ❎ are emoji and come in red or green boxes. The multiplication sign × is also an X, and it is the correct character for 3 × 4.
